Dress code for each dance subject is
important for several reasons including
developing self-discipline and
preparedness for excellent performance, competition or examinations

Dancers
are required to wear Dancewear as outlined for each Dance Subject.

The
Teacher must be able to see bodylines and muscle engagement for development of
good posture, muscle control and muscle development.

Parent
co-operation is essential to ensure that the dancer(s) follow the Studio Dress
Code.

Dancers
MUST be dressed properly for class and have the required equipment with them for
each class. They will be asked to leave the class until properly attired.
Good grooming is a part of Good dancing

Fleece-wear, denim, baggy clothing and
jewelery are not permitted.

Dancers will need a Dance Note-Book with
them to take class notes.

Dancers require a Water Bottle for each
class they take with their name on it.

Dancewear items and Dance Bags are available in the Studio Dance Shop.

DANCEWEAR
Dancers are required to wear
Dancewear. The Teacher must be able
to see bodylines and muscle engagement for development of good posture, muscle

Parental support and co-operation is required to ensure that your dancer(s)
follows the Studio Dress Code. Your child MUST be dressed properly for class and
have the required equipment with them for each class. This is part of the
self-discipline needed to be a dancer.
Please No Sweats, Fleece or Denim!
PLEASE
LEAVE YOUR VALUABLES AT HOME (Money, Watches, Jewelry).
The studio is not responsible for lost or stolen
valuables.
WATER
Hydration is important!
Dancers may bring a Water Bottle to class with their
name on it. Please ask your dancer not to share their water bottle.

DANCE
PREPARATION FOR HIGHLAND
For students 4 - 6 yrs. An
introduction to highland dance based on basic dance principals and music
appreciation.
GIRLS:
Leotard (any colour), Pink Ballet Tights or White Knee
Socks and Dance Slippers
Hair neatly groomed and off the face, a Bun is preferred
BOYS:
Black/Navy Soccer style shorts (without pockets) neat
fitting T-shirt
Knee Socks and Dance Slippers
JUNIOR
BALLET FOR HIGHLAND DANCERS *NON-EXAM CLASS
GIRLS:
Leotard (any colour), Ballet Skirt, White ankle socks,
Pink Ballet Slippers
Hair neatly groomed and off the face, a Bun is preferred
BOYS:
Black/Navy Soccer style shorts (without pockets) neat
fitting T-shirt
Knee Socks and Boy's Ballet Slippers
SENIOR
BALLET FOR HIGHLAND DANCERS *NON-EXAM CLASS
GIRLS:
Leotard (any colour), Pink Ballet Tights, Pink Ballet
Slippers, Hair in a bun
BOYS:
Black/Navy Soccer style shorts (without pockets) neat
fitting T-shirt
Knee Socks and Boy's Ballet Slippers
HIGHLAND
For students who have had a minimum of one or two seasons of Dance Preparation
up to Championship Level.
GIRLS:
Leotard (any colour), Pink Ballet Tights or White Knee
Socks and Highland Slippers
Hair neatly groomed, off the face and in a Bun
Please note that lower legs (calf & ankle) must be covered for correct dance
technique
Pre-Premier & Premier Dancers require a Practice Skirt for National Dances
Intermediate & Premier Dancers require Irish Jig Hard Shoes
BOYS:
Black/Navy Soccer style shorts
Neat fitting T-shirt,
Knee Socks, and Highland Slippers
Intermediate & Premier Dancers require Irish Jig Hard Shoes, Shillelagh & Paddy
Hat
JUNIOR AND SENIOR BODY
CONDITIONING (Stretch & Strength) for HIGHLAND DANCERS
A combination of Pilates, Yoga and Stretch & Strength for
the Highland Dancer.
Participants are required to wear dancewear.
Please No Sweats, Fleece or Denim!
ADULT RECREATIONAL HIGHLAND DANCE
Adults may wear comfortable dancewear and highland slippers.
